Arm lifts are done to reduce sagging skin between the upper arm and elbow. This procedure is usually performed under general anesthesia on an outpatient basis. Incisions are made between the armpit and the elbow, and sutures are used to close the wounds. Most normal activities can be resumed after three or four weeks. You should expect some scarring.
